How to make dashmi or sweet roti
Dashmi is one of the many types of roti/bread made across many parts of india. Its quick recipe and  has very good shelf life .It is good to carry for traveling as it stays good for 2- 3 days.
Milk is used for making Dashmi dough and it makes it very soft and tasty. Use full cream milk for rich taste. Dashmi is  good way to include more milk in diet specially when kids hesitate drinking milk.Dry fruits like cashews /almonds  powder can also be added in dashami for increasing nutritious value.
Dashmi can  be  made  sweet  as  well  salty/savory.  For making sweet Dashmi sugar or jagery can be used as sweetener. While making plain/savory use salt instead of sugar. I am posting recipe of sweet Dashmi


Cooking time:1 hour
Ingredients :
  • Atta / wheat flour 4 cups
  • Milk with full cream 2 cups
  • Cream 2 tb spoon
  • Sugar/ jagery ( Grated ) 1 cup
  • Ghee 2 tb spoon
  • Cardamom powder 1/4 tea spoon,
  • Salt as per taste
Directions to cook:
1. Boil milk in a pan. Add milk cream in this mixture to make Dashmi  more delicious and soft .
2. Add jaggery /sugar in it.stir it until jagery /sugar gets dissolved in milk.
3. Switch of gas and sprinkle cardamom powder in it.


4. Let it get cool and add atta / wheat flour in it.
5. Knead a hard dough and let it rest for half an hour.

 
6. Roll thicker roti than usual rotis. Dashmis  are of  generally double thickness than normal roti.


7. Roast both sides of dashmi on low flame.As dashmi is thick it takes longer time to gets roasted.
8. Apply ghee on bith sides while roasting  Dashmi .
9. Serve dashmi with peanut chutaney.
